The winners of the AAA – Aerogel Architecture Award 2025

On 13 June 2025, Empa's Aerogel Architecture Award ceremony took place on the Empa campus in Zurich.

1st place – AAA2025

Our warmest congratulations go to the winners of the AAA2025: Jiří Petrželka and Kristýna Klůsová from the Czech Technical University. Their student design presents a detailed plan for the conversion of an old factory in Poland.

2nd place – AAA2025

We are delighted that HASIT has won second place with an exceptional energy-efficient refurbishment. The Schafhausen manor house in Wickede (Germany), which dates back to 1743, is a listed building.

The architectural office WOHNEN.PLANEN from Münster has achieved an outstanding feat together with the monument authorities: the historic building fabric and appearance were preserved by using Fixit 222 Aerogel high-performance insulating render, while at the same time meeting the modern requirements of building insulation.

3rd place – AAA2025

Third place went to a team of students from the Federal University of Paraná. Their design of modular greenhouses with aerogel demonstrates solutions for modern cultivation methods that use less energy.
