Sustainable products and systems: Insulating plaster strategy and Fixit 222 Aerogel high-performance insulating plaster

Energy-efficient building renovation, particularly façade insulation, is one of the key challenges in achieving climate protection targets. In Germany alone, more than 19 million properties are affected. Furthermore, there are limitations on the application of insulation to façades that are worthy of preservation or listed as historic monuments.

A unique alternative to conventional insulation methods has been developed specifically to meet these requirements:

Recycling: plastic-free packaging conserves resources – mindful use of materials and recycling of building materials

The recycling of building materials and other materials is a key component of the sustainability strategy. The group FIXIT GRUPPE is already active in many countries and has launched numerous projects and initiatives:

In Austria, for example, a significant proportion of powder products have been switched to plastic-free packaging; in Germany, the sites participate in the dual system (Green Dot) and support the recycling of rock wool and EPS waste.

Power generation: Use of renewable energy – Europe-wide expansion of photovoltaic systems

The group FIXIT GRUPPE is expanding the installation of new photovoltaic systems at numerous sites and promoting the use of renewable energy.

Just recently, two new systems in Bex and Sennwald, Switzerland, with a total area of over 5,000 square metres of solar panels, were commissioned. Further projects are currently being planned and implemented across Europe.

Regional. Sustainable. Forward-looking.

Whether sourcing raw materials or delivering products, FIXIT Switzerland prioritises regional proximity – thereby reducing mileage and cutting transport costs.

Depending on the region, our logistics partners’ modern electric lorries are already being used for deliveries to our sites. In addition, our own vehicle fleet is actively being converted to electric drive, and the necessary charging infrastructure – in some cases combined with solar panels – has been installed at all our sites.

A resource-efficient future

For our in-house manufactured products, we are committed to further increasing the proportion of recycled material in our formulations. At our plants, a large proportion of formulations have already been switched to low-carbon cements.

At the Weiach plant (Switzerland), the use of recycled sand has also been tested, and this will soon be used in all our own-brand products. In this way, we combine environmental responsibility with innovative product development and create solutions that combine sustainability and quality.
